Signal is a Melbourne-made short film directed by Signal is a Melbourne-made short film directed by @ham_mac and set in a near-future world where the very air has become toxic and a mega corp has slowly become the only game in town. Shot entirely on film and featuring no dialogue, it’s a bleak, dreamy, snapshot of three very different people going about their lives in this oppressive, yet not entirely foreign, world.

I was asked to create the identity for the all-powerful corporate overlord: SIG Corp. In a mixture of design and world building I fleshed out the idea of SIG being an umbrella with four different sub-companies controlling the world, one of which is Signal where the film gets its name. I made the four individual logos ‘combine’ into the parent SIG logo.

None of this was used in the movie.

A reoccurring element in the film is the TLA hologram that the characters have built into their wrists. It alerts you to the toxicity of the air and monitors your health vitals. I also made various other little bits and pieces for the various tech throughout the movie.

Most of this was used in the movie.

The extremely talented, and handsome, @drewmoden did all the VFX for Signal.

Here’s some world building and set dressing stuff that was made to flesh out the world and tone of the movie. The Signal ‘Feed’ is a corporate/government controlled feed of curated information… Kinda like the one you’re on right now.

A little bit of this was used in the movie.

Designing the identity for Crowley's Butchery was Designing the identity for Crowley's Butchery was perhaps my first ever real job so it was a momentous occasion to do their rebrand over 12 years later.

Zac wanted something modern with some callbacks to the classic butcher aesthetic of yore. Using the same orange I picked all those years ago, I created a logo that feels contemporary with an alternate lock up that has a hint of that more traditional style.

Psilosight is Australia’s first medicinal psiloc Psilosight is Australia’s first medicinal psilocybin company, emerging at a time when research and demand for treatment are accelerating, yet legal progress feels stagnant. Despite psilocybin’s long history of human use and growing scientific validation, access remains blocked—even as black-market interest grows.

Recognising this gap, Psilosight chose to move early. While the substance is still deemed illegal, the transformative potential is undeniable: a single guided session has been shown to alleviate lifelong depression, PTSD, or addiction. Psilosight seeks to provide a safer, more trustworthy alternative for those already seeking treatment outside the system.

With no established market to model against, building Psilosight’s public identity became an exercise in future positioning. The brand is designed to evolve gradually, mirroring the slow march toward legalisation and acceptance, with Psilosight as the parent company for a growing family of sub-brands and products.

The chosen concept for the rebranding of Melbourne The chosen concept for the rebranding of Melbourne Women’s Fund.

Sometimes a bit of familiarity is all you need. This concept is my take on the old MWF logo that has been in use since 2014. I sought to keep the basic essence of the old workhorse but with a little tidy up here and a streamlining there I kicked it firmly into 2020.

The last pic is the old logo.

This one leaned into the giving circle element a bit more obviously. Too obviously? None can say for sure.
